In an alternate present, genetically enhanced humans dominate society. Outcasts Leon and Chloe fight for justice against corrupt politicians exploiting genetic disparity, risking everything to challenge the oppressive system.

Albert Gonzalez says: "Altered" attempts to weave a narrative that should be engaging but ultimately falls flat on nearly every front. The plot is riddled with clichés and lacks any semblance of originality, leaving viewers feeling as though they’ve seen it all before—and done better. Characters are one-dimensional at best, often serving as mere placeholders in a story that fails to give them depth or motivation. The dialogue is stilted and awkward, making it difficult to connect with anyone on screen. The acting leaves much to be desired; performances range from wooden to overly dramatic, failing to evoke any genuine emotion. It’s hard to invest in a film when the actors seem just as lost as the audience in navigating this convoluted script. Even the pacing feels off, dragging in parts where tension should build and rushing through moments that could have provided some much-needed character development. Visually, "Altered" offers nothing new or exciting; its cinematography is uninspired and serves only to highlight the weaknesses of the material. Attempts at suspense or thrills come across as forced rather than organic, leading to an experience that feels more tedious than entertaining. Ultimately, "Altered" is a disappointing venture that squanders its potential with poor execution across the board. Save your time—this film is an altered state of disappointment that fails to deliver on virtually every level.
