Masterplan

A master thief enlists two strangers for a Louvre heist targeting the Mona Lisa, then reveals they're his children and siblings who must cooperate to pull off history's greatest art theft.
Morgana says:
Thomas Vincent’s *Masterplan* is a frustrating exercise in wasted potential, a film that never quite finds its footing. Despite the intriguing premise of a family art heist, the narrative quickly devolves into a muddled mess. Character development is virtually nonexistent; Stanley Tucci, Victor Belmondo, and Simona Tabasco, usually reliable performers, are given little to work with, resulting in a distinct lack of chemistry. Their interactions feel forced, failing to sell the crucial family dynamic.
The pacing, at 109 minutes, feels surprisingly sluggish given the action-comedy-crime genre. There's a noticeable absence of the sharp wit or thrilling sequences one expects from such a concept. Ultimately, *Masterplan* struggles to be engaging on any level. It’s a film that promises a grand caper but delivers only a series of uninspired moments. The entertainment value is sorely lacking, making it a difficult recommendation even for genre enthusiasts.
